Romain Cools
Secretary General of Belgapom. Director of FVPhouse. President of the World Potato Congress.
Since 1991, Romain Cools has been the Secretary General of the Belgian association of the potato trade, which he turned into Belgapom, the Union of the Belgian potato trade & processing industry. He is also the current Director of FVPhouse, the Belgian fruit, vegetables & potato house.
From 1996 till 2010 Romain took up the (elected) function of secretary general of Europatat and from 2004 till 2012 was also the secretary general of EUPPA, the European Potato Processors’ Association. He is currently Chair of the Civil Dialogue Group of quality & promotion of DG Agri (European Commission) and Chairman of the AgroFood platform of UNIZO.
Romain Cools has been active as a board member in several organisations of the agro-food chain and since January 2018 is the President of the World Potato Congress inc.
